ECSC Thailand offers Conversations About Autism in English, a discussion program for parents of autistic children in Thailand.
The program is led by Ajarn Darren, an experienced English teacher in Thailand and the father of a non-verbal autistic daughter.
The idea is simple.
Parents can talk about a subject that matters deeply to them while developing the English vocabulary and confidence to discuss their experiences, concerns, questions, and everyday family life.
For some parents, that may mean talking about communication challenges. For others, it may mean discussing school, routines, progress, frustrations, funny moments, or simply what daily life is like.
The English development happens through the conversation.

Conversations About Autism
Darren understands that raising an autistic child can involve both difficult and rewarding moments.
As the father of a non-verbal autistic daughter, I know how much meaning can exist in a word, gesture, look, or moment of connection. Every family’s experience is different, but sometimes it is helpful simply to talk with someone who understands some of the realities involved. Conversations About Autism gives parents an opportunity to do that while also developing their English. We can talk openly about family life, communication, education, challenges, progress, and anything else that comes naturally. It is not therapy. It is conversation with someone who understands the subject personally and can also help you express yourself more naturally in English.

English Conversation With a Real Purpose
Why discuss autism in English?
Because language is easier to develop when the conversation is meaningful.
- Talk with someone who understands some of the realities of raising an autistic child.
- Practice expressing personal experiences, opinions, concerns, and questions naturally in English.
- Develop useful English vocabulary for autism, family life, education, communication, and everyday challenges.
Rather than following a textbook, the conversation develops around the topics the parent wants to discuss.
Useful vocabulary, phrasing, pronunciation, and corrections emerge naturally as the conversation develops.
